Somebody is looking to fill the newspaper during a slow news week. The County HAS the right-of-way needed to proceed to the contract-awarding phase if they wanted to. These interviews must have been done a month ago because one of the parties has sold and a route is available. There is more that I could say about the statements of both property owners, but not here. Property acquisitions for rights-of-way are NEVER pleasant things. The entity attempting to obtain the property is generally always the bad guy. I do not work for the County, but know much about this project. The County purposely DID NOT wish to use Eminent Domain (which they could have) to get the right of way but knew that it would generate bad P.R. Looks like the media will go out of its way to create a P.R. issue no matter what. The "Journalist" should have presented the entire story in this case. It is actually VERY interesting.
