Sunset Silhouette at Sandaoling

A JS of the Sandaoling Coal Mine Railway steams slowly past the setting sun on November 11th, 2010. This spectacular sunset is characteristic of this part of far western China, providing a potent metaphor for the future of steam in China. However unlike most of its compatriots, the sun has not yet set on the steam of Sandaoling Coal Mine Railway, where over 20 steam locomotives are still employed 24/7!
