According to the write-up Lind was in his 40's at the time (which would put him around 80 today assuming he is still living and in control of the collection). He held a degree in mechanical engineering and had a work background as a machinist so must have had some idea what he was doing re. railroad equipment restoration. The article indicates he was usually short of both money and volunteer help, and may have had difficulty with both the county historical society and the local P&Z people over his museum. At one time, he apparently had plans to install a switch and spur off the nearby Soo Line for operation of fan trips with his equipment but was unable to finance it. It sounds as though he had/has the start of a decent collection and museum operation but could never quite pull it together. Should the property and collection ever come up for sale it's possible that someone, or some group, with a bit of money and ambition could make the thing work.
