They should have been put into service on the Streetcar line instead of buying more overpriced United Streetcars.

There's just zero need for them on MAX, with seven minute headways between Yellow and Green Line trains. They basically have to cram in a trolley, leading the Operator to have to rush people boarding on and off the train so he doesn't hold up MAX behind him. If you aren't ready to board when the trolley shows up, you don't get on the trolley...

Or...install overhead wire on the Jefferson Street Branch from Bancroft Street south to Miles Street, just south of Willamette Park. That would have made for a good trolley route, 1.5 miles long.
