I was a West Coast boy so the first GG-1's I saw were only in books. But I was hooked early on by these handsome beasts. Fortunately school and the U.S. Navy got me to trackside before they disappeared. And even saw a few when they were still run by the late great PRR.

Thanks to the folks who identified this location as "Bryn Mawr from the North Merion Avenue bridge, looking west" and "the train is probably No.50 - The Admiral - due past at 12:06pm DST and coming out of the curve at Rosemont station." March 1962.
