Howard, I sincerely hope that things develop the way they hope. People will ask, if you're a
certified conductor or engineer why work for a shortline when the wages and benefits are way less
than a class 1. It buys you a much more predictable schedule and an easier path to promotion. If
you go through the personnel rosters of most of the regionals it's populated by people up though
the ranks rather than through college. Big deal is just picking the right group for your job.
