Back in 1966, on a railfan vacation to northern California, I drove to the north end of the Redding trestle to photograph an SP freight that I knew was approaching. To my dismay, the freight was being pulled by F-units in the bloody nose scheme, not the Black Widow scheme. I didn't want to hurt the engineer's feelings so I pretended to take a photograph.
