No.

An alert crew may notice something in the mirror or hear the prime mover sounding weird. Outside of that, there is no alarm.

Reminds me of the time I worked up to Klamath Falls on the Starlight and our lead locomotive blew fireballs whenever we throttled up. Was pretty cool at 79MPH in the middle of the night.
