Forty years ago I wasn't too good about putting dates on ANY of my slides. The July 71 was what the processor stamped on it. It could have been a couple months prior to that.

The Southern Pacific Motive Power Annual, 1971, by Strapac (first printing Dec 71) shows the 5100, 5103, 5109, and 5120 still in service and assigned to Eugene.
