I looked through the Union Pacific photos this afternoon and almost, if not all of them were reversed. I have scanned tens of thousands of negatives and it can happen, but not if you are paying attention and the error should be caught. Obviously whoever scanned the negatives didn't give a rats rear as its pretty obvious when the side of a passenger car reads cificaP noiuN and the depot sign reads APMAN (NAMPA)...

In the Northern Pacific section photos 63-74 are all Milwaukee Road photos, including Harlow, Lewistown and the North Montana Lines. This is a more excusable error but some of them should have been caught when the lettering on the side of the locomotive reads Milwaukee Road.
