It depends

A lot depends on your work flow. If you routinely upload images to some other site, using a url here makes sense for those images. But if you don't routinely use another site, it is a whole bunch easier to be able to upload the image directly. But image size is also an issue. The large files I upload to my website at one time would not open here (that seems to be fixed), and last time I linked one to TO the image opened but was compressed and lost sharpness.
