The Road of Anthracite, Mt. Pocono, PA

Once the home of The Phoebe Snow, the great mainline of the Lackawanna has shriveled into a single track line seeing few trains. Abandoned signal bridges, the remains of double track, towers give it a somewhat ghostly feeling. To the left, the abandoned tower and beyond the former depot.

On May 20th, 2013, we found the daily train from Scranton arriving at Pocono Summit behind three ALCO/MLW units. M630 #3000, M636 #3643, and RS 32 #211 (ex-SP).
