caboose and passenger car near caltrain

I was on a Northbound Caltrain around 3pm today...I saw the back of an old cabosse parked in a Y or loop siding/spur between two buildings near the old Redwood City Yard. I couldn't see the side but it was painted in the old SP colors.

A few minutes later as we were leaving the South SF station I saw a streamlined silver passenger car on one of the freight tracks. I couldn't see a name.

Does anybody know aboout these cars?
