What you felt is about average for a shallow 5-something in SoCal that's not right under you. Did you fill in the USGS questionaire for "Did You Feel It" at the web site?

I'd be surprised at any real damage, news-screamers (isn't it amazing how they can keep talking even when breathless and clueless?) notwithstanding. Sort of like our tornados the other day in NorCal - they were, but they were small and the damage was (thankfully) minor - but you wouldn't know that from looking at the news.
