John used to be heavily involved with organizing
some of the Bay Area railfan excursions of my youth.
Perhaps ones Drew photographed and we've admired
here on the forum.

John had a much appreciated quiet hand
in things because he worked for the railroad,
which gave some insight and credibility to the special requests.

He's been the steady hand at the book store and
gift shop in the museum at Rio Vista Jct since I
was a kid. And as we know - all museums benefit from
having a very rational talent like John to keep
things rolling.

I can tell you he can still pound out a few tunes on a
piano. During a reception following my dad's funeral
he brought some life to the party if you will <:)
