BNSF 8000 is an ES44C4 (GE 4400 hp, 6 axles, 4 powered, AC, GEVO). Is that what you are talking about? There seems to be some confusion in the responses since the numbers between 8000 and 9000 used to be largely EMD locomotives of various models.

And yes the crews do dislike the C4's since they forgot to add the extra traction motors. They are slippery. Less power to the rail and less dynamic than a 6 motor AC but about the same as a 6 motor DC. If you run them in the mountains you'll quickly see the difference.
