The Vega might have been a decent car but not for that POS motor. Unsleaved aluminum open deck block with cast iron head. That was asking for trouble. I once drove my '60 Biscayne 4 door all around the service roads in Cajon Pass and even crossed Cajon Creek with no trouble. But I did get my '81 4X4 crew cab high centered out near Silverwood.
