Interesting this is a wrong DOT number. Of course I didn't just randomly put a number on it, so the number supplied must have been confused with another close by crossing in the survey. For edification, this is lower Scaroni Road on the Santa Cruz branch, famous for being access to Red White and Blue beach, a clothing optional beach. The upper Scaroni road had a prominent mailbox painted red, white and blue to discretely mark the location for the casual traveler. Another earlier post showed another location where the FRA requested the private stop signs be moved to opposite sides of the track, originally both were on the same side, away from the farmers tractors. To protect the sign rail posts were installed by yours truly, and painted yellow for visibility. I do like the look of the YV style posts, they were a pleasure to build.
