I can remember at least one miserable run from LA to West Colton with these turkeys. I don't recall which ones, or if all of them, had this transition issue (another forgettable memory of truly miserable locomotive), but use of these for empty drags, and k trains didn't require much speed, in order to limp from siding to siding, on a one way, 54 mile, 12 hour trip to Colton, to die in the inbound yard (on duty another 3 or 4 hours to wait for a deadhead back to LA.......)

I see the SP HS and TS has done an outstanding piece on the number one SP rail fan favorite Alco piece of junk the C-415.
