Was there a possibility or is there still one of detouring this train over the route through Southern Wyoming on the Union Pacific?

Is it now common that if a detour is conducted that this train does NOT use the Lucin Cutoff portion of the route as a part of its detour but still goes to Salt Lake City and resumes its original route there?

What is the route between Salt Lake City and Ogden called?
