List of BS reasons the SCMB cant get their act together:
Bridge condition at La Selva prohibits operating north of there
No rail access north of La Selva (milepost 9)
No Tourist draw south of La Selva
No freight just farms between milepost 9 and milepost 3
Rail line not owned by SCMB so little reason exists to invest money in something they dont own
Freight Rail
SCMB services (5) five, 5, thats 1 2 3 4 and 5. I II III IV AND V customers in watsonville and will serve one more once the line opens all the way to santa cruz. I dont know about you but my calculator reads this 1+1+1+1+1+1=6 should I spell that? one plus one plus one plus one plus one plus one equals six.
Thats more customers served than by the quincy railroad, california western, north western pacific, san francisco bay railroad, west isle line, yreka western, napa valley railroad, west oakland pacific railroad, mccloud railway, santa cruz big trees and pacific, and probably the trona Railroad or whatever they call themselves these days.
impressive carload numbers? nope and its not a high-traffic line and it never will be.
