A link to yesterday's story:[www.spokesman.com]
And another development today:[www.spokesman.com]

The first story presents a fairly low-ball figure for the number of crude trains currently moving through Spokane. Three refineries in western WA are already receiving unit crude trains, and one terminal in NW OR transfers from unit trains to local storage and barges. Do the math.

And no mention of the Canadian crude that's moving through Spokane on UP, headed for California. Not in unit trains yet, but some of the crude blocks that have come south on manifests have been long enough that more than 3/4 of the train amounted to crude anyway.

If these folks knew how much TIH and other hazmat (ammonia, molten sulphur, etc.) rolls through Spokane in large quantity each day, crude would become the lesser of their worries.
