I'm sure that they're not electrical plug ins for locomotives or refrigerator containers in well cars. I would think that BNSF wouldn't allow any TOFC, COFC or container train to sit for very long without a fresh crew ready to take over...
Not sure what those boxes are myself, but I would think it's environment based
for the fact that there's lots of farmland in the area.
Not so sure about the topography of the area too well.
