Aren't the countries and governments where these people are originating from somewhat responsible for their well-being? Or does that burden just fall on you and I? We're already trying to be the world's police force. Are you saying we need to be the "board and care" provider to the world as well?
And, please, don't quote me the inscription that's on the Statue of Liberty that most liberals do at this stage of the discussion. All that does is blur the distinction between LEGAL immigration and ILLEGAL immigration. There's a HUGE difference, but that's just one more feature the bleeding heart liberals refuse to see.
