SIERRA SNOW

Yesterday, on the UP Roseville Sub over Donner, a train hit a vehicle at a private crossing at about MP 161 near Midas. The wreckage fouled the #2 track and UP couldn't find a towtruck that
would or could get to the crossing to remove the vehicle. The incident backed up rail traffic
back to Roseville on the west side and Sparks on the east. At last report last night, UP was
trying to get a tractor down to remove the vehicle from the ROW. They finally let some west bound trains thru the incident at "walking speed" on the #1 track, since there was only about 1 foot clearence.

Last night the Sierra really got dumped on with snow. (Maybe Mike can tell us what they got at Norden. I-80 was closed all night. I have not seen or heard any rail traffic today (Sunday) over Donner. I have to assume that the UP is spending the day trying to clear the rails of a bunch of
snow.
