Norden received 127" of snow for January, with 124" of snow on the ground this morning. Total seasonal snowfall since Sept. 1st is 250" The total avg. annual snowfall at Norden is 450". Last year on this date the snow on the ground is was a mere 25" with the seasonal total of 103". Truckee has just under 4 feet of snow on the ground. Down in the Canyon, Boca has 33" on the ground. In the FRC, Portola as 25" on the ground. Along the I-5 corridor, Dunsmuir has 25" snow on the ground. Farther north, Mt. Shasta City has 42" of snow on the ground and has been snow covered since Dec. 12th. There total avg. annual snowfall is 100" and the they have received 100" so far this season! 70" of those inches came in January, the most since 1968! Meteorologist Mike Pechner, U.P.
