And of course later on airline stewardesses were allowed to marry and keep their jobs as well. Don't remember when that happened but it certainly was after the '50's when my friends were "stews" as they were called then, now "flight attendants". and come to think of it, men were also allowed to become "stews" at some point as well. Someone who posts here should surely be able to tell us when all those changes took place. I'm just too lazy to Google! :-)
