>Considering that the earliest "paintings" of the San Gabriel Valley ie those representing the Indian population show smoke/smog from the campfires, one wonders what the impact will be when the bulk of California moves back to caves and campfires.
There was air pollution in the LA basin ever before the Europeans (Anglos and Hispanics -- meaning "Hispania", the old name for Spain) moved it. It's a feature of inversion layers created by the barrier of the slip-strike fault mountains which ring it and the indian's cooking fires.
