I was down there a little while ago. There is a public walking trail through the course. Since it is county owned it had to have public access. You cannot park in the course parking lot as that is for golfers only. There are some nice pictures in the morning along the course trail. Of course bring a earplug for your scanner don't want to disturb the golfers. Also I would not be surprised if the public trail would be closed off for the tourny so they can charge for access and control the people better. I was there for about a hour and I did not see very many of the golfers looking at the trains. I can just see the pro's reaction when a long freight goes whistling past. I wonder if they will try to be like MLB during the all star game in Seattle they tried to get all RR to shut down during the game so the train horns and noise would not disturb the all stars ( fat chance). While I was there a track inspector came by and stopped every 50' or so and picked up golf balls as there is a high chain link fence between the course and the tracks so no retreving erant shots.

On the future part of the plan is a overhead walkway with beach access and maybe making the old gravel loading pier a fishing pier but it is a long way away.
