I worked for the that wooden axel outfit. Spent a year and a half there. Loved what I did, hated the company. Safety comes behind profit, maintaince is nill to nothing. I was always asking for something from the track department to be fixed, and untill I finaly refused to run a train was when it was finaly fixed. Turnover is high and wages are low. My advice, go to work for a Railroad with Union Benifits. I also understand that 90% of the managment that was there when I was there is now gone, and none of them were Rails.
