Re: Notification and coordination plans bad?

I've seen long strings of tanks with "NON-ODORIZED" LNG rolling through Sacramento on all the various lines downtown. Would anyone doubt that local firefighters and emergency response teams would have a catastrophe with their derailment, yet I don't see any furor from the SacBee, et al, over them.
BOB2's comments stake out an all-or-nothing position, that is: you either must have perfect plans or you can't have any and if the states and municipalities aren't told when an oilcan train will travel through their jurisdiction they won't be able to respond to an accident. Having a smattering of knowledge of HAZMAT response from CERT training, the initial response to any tank car accident should be to expect the absolute worst, and behave accordingly.
I think all the grumbling is a another case of the greens using whatever it takes to impeach "fossil fuels", inter alia, in the public square and the Bee to sell advertising.
