Hello the University of Norte Dame still uses steam and had a branch line that ran to its power house to supply coal at one time. When I last visited around 2001 there was even a steam powered shovel off on a siding. I just looked on google maps and you can still see the branch and the railroad equipment. Does anyone know the history of this branch? I followed the track on google back to a mainline where it was cut but nothing on the map references the owner of the mainline. When it was in use did the school or the railroad operate the branch? Thank you and have a nice day.
