I can think of two reasons,

1) they buy bulk advertisment time from the owner of KNBR that covers all thier stations as they want to attract national shippers (also doesn't Sea Land belong to CSX which calls on Oakland)

and

2) they want to attract nationwide investment in their company. California (bay area) has a huge amount of potential capital investors
