Probably for the same reasons Boeing advertises on "Meet The Press". To promote a positive corporate image and shareholder interest so you'll go out and buy their stock, plus they could use another tax write-off for ad expenses. It's not like the general masses are going to walk into a showroom somewhere and buy a bunch of jets the next day.
