Cash Machine?

I sure hope so, my Berkshire Hathaway B is doing great. It's my best investment for the last five years, over doubling. Insurance part of the business is great, too. Low interest rates and high equity prices are great for them, too.

BNSF capital investment is great news, too. Because the valuation and returns on this publicly traded stock seems to reflect that.

I like that because it is paying attention to future productivity and growth. And, it appears to be paying off with more fluidity staving off "meltdown" despite traffic growth. The early winter weather isn't helping right now. But, significant efforts to plan and invest are beginning to pay off, as new capacity is being brought on line, at a number of significant choke points.

I also like BNSF's management and how they have responded to the recent operational "meltdown" issues, with aggressive analysis and active response, staying the course on clearly needed improvements, while actively seeking internal and external input and solutions to respond. As opposed to the traditional RR attitude of letting issues fester, until some kind of safety, financial, and/or operational "meltdown" actually occurs. Which as so many fallen flags has shown, was all too often, the usual RR response in the "good old days".
