I was never a journalism major, but I am a journalism consumer and have been a New York Times reader for nearly 30 years.
For a shorter story, your reply would have some validity, but for a story which occupied a small portion of the front page of the business section and two full pages within the business section, the significance of the reporter's statement greatly diminishes. The meat of the article is in the second and third pages.
While you whine about the media "bias," it is clear from the article that the reporter fully understands the importance of Timken to the area.
