I'm wondering why U.P. and CHP don't just call in the U.S. Marshall's Service ??? Intentionally blocking a railroad track, or an Interstate highway, can be considered as Interfering with the Transport and Delivery of Interstate Commerce, a Federal offense under the Interstate Commerce Act.
This little - known regulation was used a week ago in Seattle, when protesters blocked Interstate 5 in downtown. The Seattle Police Department ( which has enough problems of its' own right now ) simply told the protesters "... The Federal Marshalls are on the way." Only took a few minutes to re-open the freeway !!!
