To quote one of the replies to the original article, "Yet another fanciful, unrealistic article that makes it sound like this will soon be implemented. Imagine a laser powerful enough to disintegrate a wet leaf in seconds. Now imagine that laser being shined on a shiny surface like a train rail. Now imagine how much reflection it will take to blind bystanders. Seriously, they're probably just going to install a brush. It'll be cheaper, safer, and work better."
