I took it, in coach, a few years ago in the opposite direction. The snack car food service is edible but not great, and you can improve the attitude and service of the employees greatly by tipping them. My train was pretty much on time and took 33 hours St. Paul to Portland. As has been pointed out, the Amtrak station is in St. Paul, not Minneapolis.
