When I chatted with the MNRR guys in August 2008, the SDs had just arrived. They were trying to get the bugs out so they could put them in service. The plan was that the GP7 would work the Lakeview branch and the two SD9s would lug loads up the six mile, 2.2% grade in Howard's Gulch between Canby and Ambrose. It never did work out, which sums up the MNRR.
