Operations on the Lake Railway are best described by rule 1.20 "...expect the movement of trains, engines, cars or other movable equipment at any time, on any track and in either direction."

Last I heard, UP couldn't make up their mind as to when they would be at Perez to interchange (typically has been certain weekdays during the day but only if there are loads to pick up), so LRY was playing whack a mole trying to meet them. Train operations vary day to day and is based on outbound loads and shipper's needs, and the availability of loads, empties, crew and power. Don't expect much radio traffic as most trains run engineer only and there is no dispatcher. The last I knew trains were running two or three turns a week, but as stated it can vary. The power can tie up at Lakeview, Perez, Alturas or other places as needed. Train operations are not limited to daylight hours and initial departure is often before sunrise. Depending on the size of the train and what power is available, the train might have to double or triple Canby to Ambrose.

Sorry its not much help, but they try to run a very cost efficient operation which requires they run on demand more than a fixed schedule. Traffic can surge or slow down week to week depending on shipper's needs.
