And between 1900 and 1960 the SP and Key System just sat back twiddling their thumbs when it came to commuters?? And, BTW, why would there be commuters before the software companies came into being? Of course PG&E, Pacific Bell, Shell Oil, Standard Oil (of Cal), Matson, the SF Fed, and on and on didn't have office buildings in SF then. And let's not forget the Monadnock Bldg with all those regional RR offices.
