According to newspaper stories distributed by the AP to several papers I've read indicate that the California HSR will not have a carbon footprint and will only use renewable electric power. This could make construction interesting if they intend to not use any carbon fuel to build the thing (Ha, HA!!) Hope they cut the power lines at the state line so that only California renewable electric power is consumed by the trains. Go wind go!
