You know, that is one reason that a lot of rails don't give a "Foamer" the time of day. To write the Superindent over a picture ? As they said in the old cartoons, "What a Maruun"
I have given many a foamer a ride (most after dark and/or when you knew where the officers were. I knew one hogger that called his doctor at midnight and told him to be at Grass Lake by 2:30 AM. He was, and the hogger stopped and picked him up. When he got into the cab, JP told him to sit down and take the train to Dunsmuir. And he did. Doc was a railfan and he had even donated his time to re-wire No. 25 at McCloud.
I have been sent a lot of pictures from foamers over the years. This "Jerk" must have his head up his ass for shooting a complaint to the boss. I am sure there were a lot of laughs up the ladder and if the crews no its him, he is going to get it back in spades. First thing that comes to mind is a nice BA. Try and ID someones butt. The train, okay but "Who Did It ??"
The best thing he could have done is let it go and if it was THAT important, trace the guy down through the crews. Im sure the crew member was just trying to be nice. Not anymore.
