Max is one of those folks who are used to (spoiled by?) 10+ hpt passenger trains ripping through the Alps.

This new power will make Metrolink the only carrier in CA which will be able to use the newly constructed 110 mph capable segment of LOSSAN through Camp Pendleton.

Since Metrolink is limited in train length by relatively short (well less than ten cars) platforms at most stations, this should be more than enough horsepower for the 90 and 79 mph maximum speeds, on the mostly relatively easy grades on most of the commuter corridors, where these locos would be able to easily achieve those speeds.
