That's quite a grade. I didn't realize it was that steep. It's more gradual from the San Rafael side. I can recal hearing the steamers bark coming upgrade from San Rafael by Lincoln Avenue below the tunnel but I was never on the other side when they operated upgrade to the tunnel going into town from Ignacio.
