Don't discount pipeline guys - it's the normal way to move water on land, if you know where you want to move it to. Considering location, a pipeline to one of the ports, then barge the water to SoCal or someplace else that's willing to pay for it? Pipeline along the old NWP in the canyon, with drops at places (like Willits, or maybe the various "ranches" along the way?) that might be willing to pay for it? Lots of ideas possible. Of course, leaving the water in the ground has a lot to be said for it, if you don't really need it right now, especially if you're a tree looking for something to live on.
