I have no experience with Exede but thought I'd throw out another company that I have had experience with. While working remote camps in Alaska I have used Hughesnet. It was our only reliable means of communication. Works great until you exceed the allotted usage and then upload/download goes to a snail speed until the 24-hour system "over-usage foul" is resolved. It's been a couple of years ago since I've seen a Hughesnet agreement, but I believe the service plan allowed for 340MB data transfer per 24 hour period. The over-usage problems would occur when employees would try to use Skype (video chat) which is a major data hog.
