Morning to early noon the Benicia switcher works a grain terminal, beer warehouse, autoracks. Benicia is great. You can drive up to the vista point to look at the railroad bridge. Then drive down along bayshore road underneath the bridge. Then drive to the yard next to the refinery and check that out. Then drive north to the LAke Herman Rd. overpass and drive down the roads on the east side of 680. If you can figure it out, there's also a neat curved trestle in Benicia to take pictures of. Seems like the westbound freights generally go over this as opposed to the steeper east main track, with the passenger trains going either way.
