Eureka Observations

Was in California over the weekend doing some consulting and stopped by downtown Eureka to check on the progress of the locomotive removal expecting them to be mostly gone.

Instead, what I found was a large excavator parked beside a pile of miscellaneous sheet steel scrap which included a couple of boxcar doors.

All 6 Geeps were still there and very much intact lined up in the same order they have been in for years.

Apparently the City of Eureka isn't pressing too hard for their removal.
